These extensions work as advertised but the end plate for the footboard is a tad too small and I'll be buying yet another adapter too add my footboard to my bed. They work even with a cheapy bed frame like mine.This old Queen-sized headboard has sentimental value in our 45yr marriage so I wanted to attach it to the metal bedframe in our spare room which has a full-size bed. (Picture 1 )shows the bedframe, which is lacking a bracket necessary to attach to the bedpost.I purchased Kings Brand Furniture Bed Frame Footboard Extension Brackets Set Attachment Kit - Twin/Full/Queen/King. I attached it to the headboard side of the metal bedframe. Seller could add a few more holes in the extension bracket to allow for more options in aligning the holes up. (See picture 2.) I managed to get one bolt in rail.I purchased Ronin Factory Hook On Bed Frame Brackets Adapter for Headboard Extra Heavy Duty, Set of 2 Brackets with Hardware, 711 Bracket, Bolt-On to Hook-On Conversion. Both brackets aligned up together and fit securely.I recommend both products and am quite pleased with the result.Extended bedframe for footboard as intended.They do the job! Easy to install and very sturdyAfter using my Dremel tool to modify the slots and creating a notch in one end, they fit some exiting holes in my new bed frame. Alternately, you could choose to drill some new holes if needed. They did eventually work pretty well. I covered all the overlapping joints and bolt ends with two layers of gorilla tape to avoid damage to the bed foundation or possibly hitting one with my leg in the future.I bought these extensions because our full-size bedroom set includes a headboard and a footboard, but, we had to replace the bedframe, and I found that it was impossible to find a bedframe that included a footboard bracket from any brick & mortar retailer near us.So I bought these extensions, and bolted it onto the foot part of a bedframe that included a headboard bracket.The instructions provided with these extensions called for 3 (three) nuts and 3 bolts per extension. IMHO, that was gross overkill. So I used only one nut and bolt per extension, and that supported our footboard just fine.The instructions of the extension claimed to supply 6 small carriage bolts, 6 nuts, 6 washers, and a cheapo wrench to fasten it all. The packaging actually was missing 1 washer and the cheapo wrench. Which, I got to tell you, was disappointing to me as I suspected the manufacturing may have other defects in it. I could not find any other defects though, and as I said, it appears quite sturdy to me.In short, I recommend these extensions.It got my project done but I had to order another product to go along with it to complete my bed projectWhen I went to use it was in pieces like someone took a piece before I got it. Will you returnI had to drill the frame and extension to get it to fit properly
