Took very little time to put together and it went together very well. Only 4 stars because one corner had a small tear in the fabric. I just put that side in the corner so it wont be seen.. It arrived packed very well so I can only assume it happened before and not after shipping. Overall it looks nice and serves its purpose.. My 8 year old wanted a bed that was lower to the floor.. I think he's prepping for his teenage years.. His previous bed did not require a box spring so this fit the situation perfectly.. Some mentioned they could have made their own for this price. Perhaps that is possible but when you factor in the cost of batting, fabric, staples, wood, and then time it would take to construct, I think you will find this a good bargain. I currently have the legs attached so that too would be an additional cost if you choose to use them. I have them on temporarily to allow the carpet to dry underneath from cleaning today.. Happy Shopping..There was a little mix-up in shipping, but it eventually got fixed. Only one box—the one with the box springs—was shipped initially and I didn’t know it was supposed to be two boxes. The grey fabric platform/frame did not get shipped. After contacting Amazon and letting them know the issue, they sent the other box and all was well. I can understand the issue though: after being re-sent and examining both boxes, they each said “box 2 of 2” underneath a bunch of other stickers. :-|Anyway. Assembly was fairly easy. I’d planned on helping my husband put the bed frame together before having abdominal surgery, but the shipping mix-up put a kink in that, but he was able to do it himself in about 30-40 minutes. It’s only been a couple of weeks, but I think it looks good for the price and it seems pretty sturdy. It's about the quality of IKEA’s better stuff if that makes sense to you.I’m planning to reupholstered (really just staple) fabric over the gray fabric to match a headboard that I’m making. This was mostly easy to assembly except one corner wasn’t matching up well. When we flipped the frame over to right side up, it ended up lining up ok. The legs are plastic. I think the legs could be primed with a plastic spray paint primer and the legs could be spray painted any color. This is a great piece of furniture for DIY projects. It really looks like the base of a bed.Goes together easily, especially if you have another person helping. Looks nice.As with all pre-fab furniture, don't overtighten any screws or bolts that go into a press fitting (ie: the brass threaded inserts on the other part) past hand tight, otherwise you can pull out the press fitting. Stick to that rule and you're good to go.Bought it for my Aunt and Uncle. They love it. It was easy to assemble and was just the perfect platform bed for their memory foam mattress. They’ve definitely sleeping much better because of it.The quality is great and looks perfect once assembled. The only problem was the assembly was a bit difficult. It took some muscle and patience to get the holes lined up. Other than that, I love it!Good value for the money. We bought a King size and received a Full. It was easy to return and got the King sized one within days. Looks great and is very helpful for my older pup to make it onto the bed.This was easy to put together, it is sturdy as I weigh 255 and my woman weighs "None of your Damn Business" LOL, light weight. Also, the boards than go in the middle of the platform are all in an easy roll out fabric so easy. We are completely happy with this product and highly recommend it to anyone looking to get rid of their box spring and join us here in the 2020's
